Day 04 - Resistors, Capacitors, & Inductors
In a nutshell:
- resistors: they slow current by converting current energy into heat energy, which then leaves the circuit; resistance is measured in Ohms (Ω)
- capacitors: they block DC flow but permit AC flow
- inductors: they block AC flow but permit DC flow
Today I also need you to record in your notes the difference between direct current (DC) - in which electrons pass through components as they move from the negative terminal of a battery to the positive terminal of a battery - and alternating current (AC) - in which electrons shake back and forth at a high rate of speed, and the back-and-forth movement of those electrons across the entire circuit represents energy that may be captured by components like light bulbs.
