Day 01 - Corporate Sustainability Reform
To get a handle on sustainability practices, we're going to divide up and read through some case studies on what real businesses have done to improve their sustainaibliity. The whole point of sustainability is that you want practices that do not generate waste at all. Any waste that cannot be 100% recycled back into use defines a practice that will eventually choke itself to death.
The case studies can be found at MIT's Sloan School, a leading academic program in best business practices. Your team must select one of the case studies listed (with no more than 2 teams per class claiming the same study), read through the reforms attempted by the company, and each member of the team needs to write a summary statement (2 sentences) on a blank sheet of paper explaining the reform and how it would have improved the sustainability of the company in question. Then flip the paper over and generate a diagram or drawing that communicates the same information without using any words. Turn your drawing in by the end of the bell.
