U.03 Newton's Laws of Motion

Day 01 - Bernoulli vs. Newton

Last year you studied Newton's laws of motion. In summary, here they are:

  1. to change an object's direction or movement, you have to apply force
  2. F=ma (acceleration is based on force applied divided by the amount of mass being moved)
  3. every force is opposed by an equal force (e.g., if you push against a wall, you feel the force on your hand)

In your individual Google Drive folders, create a Google Doc. Title it with your name and "Newton" so I can find it when I am grading.

You will take notes in this document using a modified Cornell Notes method. I will walk you through the process of setting it up. You are going to take notes on a PBS Website called Lift & Drag. Launch the interactive and click through each slide, adding a row to your Cornell Notes table for each click.

For some of you, the interactive Flash animation will not work. To fix this, let's try checking the Chrome settings. Once in there, click on the Flash option and confirm that it is set to "Allow sites to run Flash."
