Day 06 - Write Up EDP
Your EDP write-up must include all sections of the EDP:
- Define your problem (includes test requirements)
- Research concepts necessary to solve the problem (your Cornell notes on lift and drag)
- Brainstorm all possible ideas (images of prototypes used to explore ideas)
- Choose your best option (image of your final prototype, including ailerons or elevators or rudders)
- Implement your choice (test your prototype and collect data on its performance)
- Evaluate your solution (explain the performance of the prototype, using Newton and/or Bernoulli to justify your explanation)
Remember that to pass all 3 tests, your prototype MUST include at least one of the following elements:
- ailerons
- elevators
- rudder
Today we're going to test the performance of your prototypes against the project requirements. Any teams that do not complete their tests during the bell will have to schedule a time after school to test their prototypes.
Test 1
- straight-line flight from one end of 2150 lengthwise across the room
Test 2
- when thrown straight (at blue X on back wall):
- glide forward at least 1 meter without deviating more than 0.5 meter left or right
- after passing the first meter, must achieve a 90° turn left before crossing the 2-meter line
Test 3
- when thrown straight (at blue X on back wall):
- glide forward at least 1 meter without deviating more than 0.5 meter left or right
- after passing the first meter, must achieve a 90° turn right before crossing the 2-meter line
