Day 05 - Build a Terrarium

Now that you have designed a terrarium it is time to assemble your materials and build it. Keep in mind that the whole point of this project is to achieve the right balance of matter so that when sealed up, this jar will sustain life by simply allowing energy (sunlight) to flow through it, thereby driving the matter cycles (carbon, nitrogen, and water) needed for life.

Take care to only put as much material in the jar as is needed by the plants. Most of what the plants need in those jars will be airspace in which to grow. If you doubt that, take a look at last year's terraria and note how crowded the plants look as they press against the glass enclosures.
