Day 03 - Build a Balloon Car
Yesterday you should have tested your brainstormed model and now you should have a solid sense for what works in the design and what doesn't. Formalize your design by drawing up a design for your car. Submit a team sketch to obtain your next set of materials. The sketch may be either isometric or orthographic; whichever you find easier to do is fine by me. Graph paper is available in the back where the tools have been laid out.
Once you have a drawing of which I approve, take a photo of it and upload that image to your team EDP. Then get to building your first formal prototype.
- acceleration
- the rate at which an object's speed changes
- compression
- squeezing an object to reduce the space it occupies
- intuit
- to know something without prior study
- Newton's laws of motion
- they remind us that objects need force to change direction or velocity, and that every force in the universe is opposed by its equal; also, F=ma, or force equals mass times acceleration
- pneumatics
- any technology using air pressure to do work
