Day 06 - Test the New Prototype
Based on your analysis of the data you collected yesterday, you should have some clear direction on what needs to change in your balloon car design to get it to travel further and move faster. Take a photo of your car the way it looks now, then modify your car (or build an entirely new one) and take a second photo - before and after photos - and then weigh your rebuilt car, record that weight, and go test it. Tomorrow you will not be allowed to have access to the cars or to the tools in the cabinets, so be sure to get everything you need today.
- acceleration
- the rate at which an object's speed changes
- compression
- squeezing an object to reduce the space it occupies
- intuit
- to know something without prior study
- Newton's laws of motion
- they remind us that objects need force to change direction or velocity, and that every force in the universe is opposed by its equal; also, F=ma, or force equals mass times acceleration
- pneumatics
- any technology using air pressure to do work
