Day 06 - Inkscape Word Art
Goal: Use vector graphics with text
Last week we struggled a bit in drawing our coffee cups using Inkscape. Hopefully, however, you have gained some familiarity with the interface and how to lay down lines and fill in shading.
Today we need to move on to this tutorial on tricks for using text in vector graphic design. Your task is to make a graphic of your first name (or nickname) using the techniques shown in the tutorial. When you finish with this project, you will paste a copy of the image into a the Google Assignment doc in Classroom. You will have all of today and all of tomorrow to complete this task.
Where this assignment gets a little tricky is that I want you to try your hand at logo design. Create a logo/badge on which you can put your word art name. Ensure that you make appropriate use of gradients, shadows, and highlights. Refer back to the coffee cup tutorial if needed for refreshers on specific techniques.
In class, the Website I will show you with tips on logo design can be found at Design Shack.
